How Can I Say No? Resisting peer pressure to drink isn't always easy. But, you have the right to say no, the right not to give a reason why, and the right to just walk away from a situation.
According to the 2009 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, the rate of alcohol consumption increases with increasing age from 2.4% at age 12 to 22.4% at age 16, and 56.7% at age 20.
In many cases, the signs of alcoholism are more present when an alcoholic doesn�'t drink. Alcohol dependence is often recognized by the withdrawal symptoms the alcoholic experiences while not drinking.
The number of college students who do not drink alcohol has increased to approximately 20%.
